New Year 2025: Partying in a hotel will be so expensive, you will have to shell out your pocket!

December 21, 2025 by Uma Shankar

New Year 2025: If you are planning to celebrate in a luxurious hotel to say goodbye to the year 2025 and welcome 2026, then get ready to loose your pocket. This time the celebration of New Year’s Eve is going to be much more expensive than last year. This time the hotel industry has made its packages more grand and attractive, due to which an increase of 10 to 20 percent is being seen in the rents of rooms and parties.

New trend of ‘recovery’ after celebration

Hotels are no longer limited to just night parties, they are also selling the experience of the next day. This time a new trend is being seen in hotels which has been named ‘Recovery Brunch’. This means that after the all-night celebrations and happy hours on December 31, the first day of the New Year will start with a relaxing breakfast and detox.

Hotels like Novotel Hyderabad Convention Center have included happy hours in their winter staycation packages from 12 noon to 8 pm, giving guests ample time to relax. At the same time, Leela Palace Hotels & Resorts is offering an increase of approximately 20% on its select ‘Festive Getaway’ packages. Activities like baking sessions and guided yoga programs are also being organized here for the guests.

Huge demand for small towns and heritage places

Inflation is not limited only to big metros. Room prices are also skyrocketing in heritage and leisure destinations like Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kumbhalgarh. According to Radisson Hotel Group, rates in places like Jawai and Kumbhalgarh are expected to increase by 15-18% compared to last year. In the resorts of Mahabalipuram in South India, there has also been a jump of about 20% in the fares for the New Year dates.

Hotel Association of India President K.B. Kachru says that there was some slackness in the middle of the year, but the year is ending on a very strong note. According to Cleartrip data, this time there has been a two and a half times increase in hotel bookings as compared to last year. People are no longer just booking rooms, they are also willing to stay longer and spend on new experiences.

You will have to pay more for luxury

Hotels are now focusing on selling ‘experiences’ to their guests. At ITC Grand Chola, Chennai, guests will be able to sample food from night markets across the world and be treated to a sumptuous 13-course meal from the ‘Avartana’ brand. At the same time, ‘Do-It-Yourself’ (DIY) bar facility will be available in Ronil Goa. Six Senses Bhutan is even bringing a ‘Mindful’ celebration package for Indian citizens, which includes butter lamp prayer and akva meditation.

Anmol Ahluwalia, general manager of Taj Mahal, New Delhi, said their increased rates are due to major changes made to the hotel, such as modern air purification systems and renovated rooms.
