MI announced change of captain, now the command of the team is in the hands of this veteran

Mumbai Indians (MI), one of the most successful franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL), is known for making waves in foreign leagues as well. Currently, MI teams play in many cricket leagues of the world. One of these is the International League T20 (ILT20) played in the United Arab Emirates. The fourth season of ILT20 is going to start from December 2, a total of six teams will play 34 matches. Before the start of this season, MI Emirates has announced the new captain.

Former West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard has been appointed captain of the MI Emirates team ahead of the upcoming ILT20 season. This decision was taken after the initial auction of the league, in which Kieron Pollard was included as a wildcard player. 38-year-old Pollard will now take charge of the team in place of Nicholas Pooran, who will also participate in the ILT20 as well as South Africa’s SA20 league.

Pollard is one of the most experienced players of T20 cricket. He has played 720 T20 matches so far, which is a record for this format. He has 14,237 runs in his name. He is just 326 runs away from Chris Gayle’s record and can soon become the highest run-scorer in T20. Kieron Pollard has been associated with Mumbai Indians (MI) for the last several years, he is one of the most important members of this franchise. He will prepare the team’s strategy in this league along with coach Robin Singh. MI team will make its debut in the tournament from December 4 against Gulf Giants.

Players bought in the auction: Muhammad Rohid, Jordan Thompson, Naveen-ul-Haq, Andre Fletcher, Nostush Kenzige, Mohammad Shafiq, Zain Ul Abedin, Usman Khan, Akeem Auguste, Arab Gul, Tajinder Dhillon, Zahoor Khan, Shakib Al Hasan.

Retention Direct Signings: Fazalhaq Farooqui, Tom Banton, Romario Shepherd, Chris Woakes, Jonny Bairstow, AM Ghazanfar, Muhammad Wasim, Kamindu Mendis.

Wildcard: Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard.
