Maharashtra: People angry over the actions of BJP woman candidate, party cap worn on Chhatrapati Shivaji’s statue

The actions of BJP’s female candidate during the local body election campaign in Bhandara district of Maharashtra have created an uproar. Actually, the BJP candidate put the party’s cap and strap on the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Meanwhile, someone made a video of this entire incident and made it viral on social media. After which people are targeting the BJP candidate.

A big political controversy has come to light in Bhandara district. Bharatiya Janata Party’s Chandrakala Bhope is contesting from ward number 2 here. On Monday, during the election campaign, he wore the BJP cap on the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Not only this, a strap with a lotus symbol was also put around the neck of the statue. The video of this incident is becoming increasingly viral on social media, after which sharp reactions are emerging across the state. Opposition parties are also targeting BJP on social media.

Outrage on social media regarding the incident

In Maharashtra, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is considered as an emotional, glorious and universally accepted personality. Many people have considered it insulting to put any political party’s publicity material on his statue. Huge anger is being expressed regarding this incident on social media. This issue has gained momentum at the local level as well and citizens including opposition parties have strongly criticized this act. At present, there has been no reaction from the BJP high command regarding this entire matter.

Elections postponed in more than 24 city councils and panchayats

Let us tell you that votes will be cast for local body elections in Maharashtra on 2nd December. Whereas voting will be held in more than 24 city councils and panchayats on December 20. In fact, on Monday, the State Election Commission postponed the elections in more than 24 city councils and panchayats, fearing irregularities in the elections. Candidates and political parties were surprised by this step of the Election Commission. CM Devendra Fadnavis has lodged a strong objection to this.
