Just before the voting for the civic elections in Maharashtra, the political temperature is increasing over a scheme of the Mahayuti government. The name is Ladki Behan Yojana. There is a credit war going on between BJP, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP regarding this. In this episode, a new political dialogue came from Government Rural Development Minister Jaikumar Gore. Before what Jayakumar said, let us take a look at the voting to be held today.
Voting will be held today for 264 municipal councils and nagar panchayats in the local body elections in Maharashtra. EVMs will be used in these elections to be held in different districts. These elections will decide the fate of 6705 members and 264 chairpersons of local bodies (Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat). Counting of votes will take place on December 3. Apart from 24 local bodies in the state, voting will not be held on Tuesday for 154 ward seats of 76 other local bodies.
What did Jaikumar Gore say?
While addressing women in a rally in Solapur, Jaikumar Gore said that even husband does not give you Rs 100 but Deva Bhau has given you Rs 1500. That is why vote should be given only to BJP. Devendra Fadnavis is also called Deva Bhau by his fans. BJP leader and government minister Jaikumar Gore is close to CM Fadnavis. This statement has infuriated the opponents. The opposition called it an insult to women.
Jaikumar Gore said, even your husband does not give you Rs 100 but Deva Bhau has sent Rs 1500 to your account. At least show some gratitude for this. It is natural for the opposition to be upset, but why are there disputes in the Mahayuti government on any scheme? So the answer is no alliance in civic elections. That is why it is BJP versus Shiv Sena in the local elections of Maharashtra. The war on the Ladki Bahin scheme is on!
Not only the leaders of parties and ministers of different groups but also big leaders are face to face. On one side is Fadnavis himself and on the other side is Eknath Shinde. BJP is calling this scheme as the achievement of Deva Bhau i.e. Fadnavis. So Shinde Sena is giving credit to Eknath Shinde. NCP’s argument is that Ajit Pawar was the Finance Minister at the time of the scheme. That’s why the credit is theirs.
who said what?
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, Ladki Bahin Yojana was started when I was Chief Minister. This scheme was started by the Mahayuti government. I was the Chief Minister and both were Deputy Chief Ministers. We launched it as a team. I know how many obstacles this scheme had to face during my tenure as Chief Minister but we decided to continue it. We had assured Ladki Bahin that no matter what anyone says, the Ladki Bahin scheme will not be stopped.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, as long as your brother-in-law is the Chief Minister, no one can stop the money of Ladki Bahin Scheme. That money will keep coming. The decisions we take are not just for the sake of elections, we are the people who take decisions. Because we have to come to you again and again. We are not among those who run away once we arrive.
