
NCP Ajit Pawar faction leader and former minister Manikrao Kokate got a big relief on Friday. Bombay High Court granted bail based on the decision of Nashik Sessions Court. Nashik Court had sentenced Manik Rao Kokate to 2 years imprisonment in the case of irregularities in housing allotment. After that an arrest warrant was issued against him.
Nashik Sessions Court Manikrao Kokate An arrest warrant was issued against him, against which Kokate had approached the High Court. The High Court has taken a major decision while hearing this case.
Manikrao Kokate has got a big relief and he has got bail. The High Court has granted bail to Manikrao Kokate on a surety bond of Rs 1 lakh, due to which the matter of arrest of Manikrao Kokate has now come to light.
Kokate was sentenced to two years imprisonment in the Nashik flat case, after which the Nashik Sessions Court had issued an arrest warrant in this case. After the controversy, Manikrao Kokate had resigned from the post of minister and his resignation was accepted on Thursday.
Know what is the matter
Manikarao Kokate was sentenced to two years in jail in the Nashik flat case. This case is from 1995. Meanwhile, Nashik Sessions Court had issued an arrest warrant against Manikrao Kokate in the same case. As soon as the arrest warrant was issued, Manikrao Kokate’s health deteriorated and he was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Kokate had appealed against this in the High Court.
Earlier the High Court had refused to hear the case immediately. However, the High Court showed readiness for hearing on Friday, accordingly the hearing took place today. In this case Kokate has got a big relief from the High Court.
Bail granted on a bond of Rs 1 lakh
The High Court has granted bail to Kokate on a surety bond of Rs 1 lakh. Therefore, Kokate’s arrest has been postponed for now. However, the court has not stayed the punishment of Manikrao Kokate. Since Kokate has got bail, he will not be arrested for now. Earlier it was feared that he would be arrested after the arrest warrant was issued, but now he has got relief from this.
