In Sangli, two former mayors and 16 former councilors have joined NCP Ajit Pawar’s party.

This defection took place in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, MLA Indris Naikwadi and many officials of NCP Ajit Pawar’s party.
Shock to Sharad Pawar’s party in Sangli
On this occasion, Ajit Pawar said, I have been a political activist for the last 35 years. Sangli and Satara districts have their own distinct traditions. The struggle of United Maharashtra has given great leaders to Maharashtra and the country. Sangli is considered a district of well-known people, but times change, hence it is necessary to work to strengthen the new leadership.
He said, I was elected with the support of Congress, but in 1999 the Nationalist Party was formed. Many people attended that party. We also participated in it so that Maharashtra can develop in the true sense without turning back. Many people have led Sangli Municipal Corporation, but the development of the city is still pending.
Promise to make Sangli city a metro city
He said, a municipal corporation cannot run on its own. Funds have to be taken from the center and many other sources. Sangli city needs to implement the concept of metro city. We are now trying to build airports in almost every district. If we want to bring industry on a large scale in Sangli, then the airport is necessary. Development is necessary.
Ajit Pawar has also said that our role here is to ensure that the new workers of the party do not regret joining the party and do not do injustice to the old workers.
