Union Minister and patron of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) Jitan Ram Manjhi is surrounded in controversies these days regarding his statement. The opposition party is attacking him. While talking to the media in Patna on Saturday, he once again gave such a statement in which he even called the state president of his own party a ‘running away candidate’. Also, while giving clarification on the viral video, Manjhi has not only refuted his old statement.
Union Minister Manjhi said that the viral video is being presented in a wrong manner. He clarified that his intention was not to ask any DM to win the elections. He said that recounting is a normal process in elections and sometimes the results change through it. Giving the example of Bhabhua, he said that after recounting there the candidate had won by 27 votes, whereas earlier he was losing. But his statement was wrongly presented before the people, which is not correct.
State President Anil Kumar ran away from the election venue
The Union Minister said that the same thing had happened in the 2020 assembly elections also. At that time our candidate had asked for recounting and the competent authority gave the order, after which he won. If recounting had been sought this time too, it is possible that we would have won. In this context, taking the name of his state president Anil Kumar, he said that he got discouraged and ran away from the election venue, whereas he should have demanded recounting. If he had demanded it, he could have won also.
Told his political experience of defeat
Manjhi said that it is seen in every election that the candidate who loses by less votes demands recounting. Citing his political experience, he said that when he himself lost the elections in 1990, he had not asked for recounting, but had he asked, perhaps the result would have been different. In his viral video, he had only talked about recounting, on which he is firm even today.
Boosted the morale of the workers, did not blame the officer
The Union Minister clearly said that neither is there any fault in the election machinery nor the role of the officials should be questioned. He said that the shortage lies in our workers, who leave the field under pressure. Candidates should fight till the last moment and use their rights. Manjhi also said that his statement is being distorted. His aim was only to boost the morale of the workers and not to accuse any officer.
What is the whole matter?
It is noteworthy that a video given by Union Minister and patron of Hindustani Awam Morcha (Hum) Jitan Ram Manjhi regarding the 2020 assembly elections had gone viral on social media in recent days. Many constituent parties of the Grand Alliance had launched a scathing attack on him regarding this video. Now after this clarification of Manjhi has come to light, the rhetoric in Bihar politics has become more intense.
