The special thing is that in the last month of the year, an increase of more than 5 percent has been seen in the prices of jet fuel. Due to which the prices of jet fuel have increased to more than Rs 1 lakh per kiloliter in two metros.
The special thing is that in the last three consecutive months, the price of jet fuel has seen an increase of about 9 thousand kiloliters in the country’s capital Delhi. Whereas in Chennai, an increase of Rs 9,100 per kiloliter has been seen in the prices. Due to continuous increase, airlines may increase their flight fares in the coming days. There is a reason for that too. Jet fuel accounts for more than 40 percent of the total operational cost of any airline. In such a situation, if the price of fuel increases, the fares of airlines will increase. Let us also tell you what the price of jet fuel has become for domestic and international flights.
Fuel prices for domestic flights
- In the country’s capital Delhi, the price of jet fuel for domestic flights has seen an increase of Rs 5,133.75 and an increase of 5.43 percent. After which the price has become Rs 99,676.77 per kilolitre. However, in the last three consecutive months, the price of jet fuel for domestic flights in Delhi has seen an increase of Rs 8,963.25 per kilolitre.
- In Kolkata, one of the major metros of the country, the price of jet fuel for domestic flights has seen an increase of Rs 4,821.84 and an increase of 4.94 percent. After which the price has become Rs 1,02,371.02 per kilolitre. However, in the last three consecutive months, there has been an increase of Rs 8,484.84 per kiloliter in the price of jet fuel for domestic flights in Kolkata.
- In Mumbai, one of the financial capital of the country, the price of jet fuel for domestic flights has seen an increase of Rs 4,833.17 and an increase of 5.46 percent. After which the price has become Rs 93,281.04 per kilolitre. However, in the last three consecutive months, there has been an increase of Rs 8,448.21 per kiloliter in the price of jet fuel for domestic flights in Mumbai.
- In Chennai, the largest metropolis of South India, the price of jet fuel for domestic flights has seen an increase of Rs 5,212.12 and an increase of 5.31 percent. After which the price has become Rs 1,03,301.80 per kilolitre. However, in the last three consecutive months, there has been an increase of Rs 9,149.84 per kiloliter in the price of jet fuel for domestic flights in Chennai.
for international flights
There has been a huge increase in the prices of jet fuel for international flights also. If we look at the data of IOCL, there was an increase of $ 47.8 in the price of jet fuel for international flights in Delhi, after which the price has become $ 864.81. Whereas in Kolkata, the highest increase of $ 86.3 has been seen and the price has reached $ 903.10 per kiloliter. In Mumbai, there was a slight increase of $ 8.72 and the price has reached $ 864.35 per kg. On the other hand, the price of jet fuel for international flights in Chennai has seen an increase of $ 47.53 and the price has become $ 859.89 per kiloliter.
