Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir is being criticized everywhere after losing the test series against South Africa. Many former players raised questions on his thinking and then two consecutive clean sweep defeats. Some believe that there should be a separate coach for the Test format. However, former captain and veteran batsman Sunil Gavaskar believes something else. Gavaskar said that it is not only Gautam Gambhir’s fault in Team India’s defeat. Ashwin also came to the rescue
Gavaskar gave the example of New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum. He is the coach of all three formats of England. In many countries, the same coach handles all formats. Gavaskar said that we only point fingers at defeat, no one gives credit for victory. Gavaskar said that the coach should not be blamed for the team’s poor performance on 22 yards. Former off-spinner R Ashwin also defended Gambhir. He said that the demand for Gambhir’s removal is wrong. The players have not fulfilled their responsibilities.
