Team India for the World Cup was announced at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai on Saturday. As soon as Board Secretary Dewajit Saikia took the name of Ishan Kishan, everyone was surprised but at the same time happy because less than 48 hours before this announcement, Ishan had made Jharkhand the champion for the first time by scoring a brilliant century in the final of the Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He got the reward for this in the form of selection.
While the team was announced in Mumbai, the media started following Ishaan who returned to his home in Patna, so that he could get a reaction. Ishaan also did not disappoint and expressed his happiness on the selection but during this he did not say much. In response to media questions, Ishaan only said, “I have found out and am very happy. I am happy. The entire team had performed well (in the Mushtaq Ali Trophy).”

Ishan Kishan has returned to Team India for the first time after December 2023. Then he was a part of Team India on the South Africa tour but just before the start of the Test series, he suddenly withdrew his name and withdrew from the team, which surprised everyone. After this, for some time, despite repeated requests from BCCI, he was not playing in domestic cricket. Due to this, he was out of the team for the last 2 years. But this time in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he not only captained the team but also became the number-1 batsman by scoring more than 500 runs including a century in the final.
