
Ishaan Khatter On Religion: Bollywood actor Ishaan Khattar was in the news recently for his film ‘Homebound’. This film of his was selected as India’s official entry for the Oscars for the year 2026. In this he played the role of a Muslim boy named Shoaib. Now Ishaan has openly expressed his views regarding religion. He clearly said that apart from the temple, he also goes to the mosque and church.
Ishaan Khattar was born to Muslim mother Neelima Azim and Hindu father Ishaan Khattar. Although he is recognized in all religions. He respects all religions and visits all religious places. Ishaan Khattar also said that diversity is the real strength of our country.
What did Ishaan Khattar say on religion?
Ishaan Khattar said in a recent interview, “For me, really. That’s my idea about India is that when you grow up in a home that is pluralistic, secular or just open or liberal, you also grow up, like me, going to temples, mosques, churches, trying to absorb the beauty of all these religions, cultures and faiths.” He also said that his background may be Hindu and Muslim, but he is completely human.
Describing diversity as the real strength of India, Ishaan further said, “In this sense, we are a big democracy. When you go to a place like New York or London, you realize that it is a cultural center or a confluence of so many cultures. Perhaps this is the progressive way. This leads to a lot of development in the society. There is an opportunity to have different viewpoints and different strengths of different people come to the fore.” He further said that India will maintain its openness and liberalism.
‘Homebound’ flopped at the box office
Along with Ishaan, actors like Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor are also in lead roles in ‘Homebound’. This picture, made under the direction of Neeraj Ghaywan, was released on 26 September. However, this film, made for Rs 25 crores, could earn only Rs 3 crores at the worldwide box office and flopped badly.
