Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is walking away from Congress these days. On Sunday, he did not participate in the meeting of the strategic group of Congress called under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi regarding the winter session of Parliament. Earlier, he was also missing from the Congress meeting called on the issue of SIR.
Shashi Tharoor is sometimes seen criticizing his own party and sometimes praising PM Modi. Because of his changed attitude, speculations are being made in political circles about his distance from Congress. Many times in the last few months, Shashi Tharoor’s statements have shown that he is completely separating from the Congress.
Tharoor started praising PM Modi
Recently, Shashi Tharoor termed Narendra Modi’s speech at the Ramnath Goenka lecture as ‘economic vision and cultural call’. He praised Prime Minister Modi for outlining India’s economic direction and emphasizing on making the country’s heritage glorious. After which there is panic in Congress.
It is worth noting that posts praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi have appeared on his Instagram earlier also. After his comments about PM Modi, he has faced criticism from other Congress leaders. Congress leader Sandeep Dixit, reacting to Shashi, said that I do not think he knows much about the country. If according to you someone is doing good for the country by going against the policies of Congress, then you should follow those policies. Why are you in Congress? Is it just because you are an MP?
Apart from this, Tharoor has also praised Operation Sindoor and appreciated the steps taken by the Indian government during the Pakistan conflict. On the other hand, Congress had raised many questions on the government during this period.
Started criticizing Congress also
Tharoor, who has been an MP on Congress ticket since 2009, is now seen speaking ill of the Congress. Recently he had said that dynastic politics in all political parties is a serious threat to Indian democracy and said that now the time has come for India to replace dynastic politics with meritocracy. This statement of Tharoor was seen as an attack on Congress.
Whereas BJP supported Tharoor’s words and called it a very insightful article on how Indian politics has become a family business. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala said, “He has directly attacked India’s Napo kid Rahul and younger Napo kid Tejashwi Yadav!”
