
Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and others have received a big blow from the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi in cases including IRCTC scam. The court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Dinesh Bhatt of Rouse Avenue Court has rejected the transfer petition filed by Rabri.
Rabri Devi had demanded transfer of the cases pending before the current special judge Vishal Gogane, who is hearing the case, to another judge. Special PP DP Singh, appearing for CBI, had protested and said that Rabri Devi had defamed the judiciary. Special Judge Gogne is following the judicial process.
CBI had opposed Rabri’s petition
A hearing regarding this matter was held in Rouse Avenue Court last week. Rabri Devi’s transfer petition was opposed by CBI. SPP DP Singh, appearing for CBI, said in the court that Rabri Devi has defamed the judiciary. No accused can put pressure on the court. The accused cannot change the court again and again. After this, the next hearing of the case was fixed on December 15.
Now hearing will be held on January 9
Rouse Avenue Court has postponed the hearing on the order to frame charges in the case of land in exchange for job in Railways. The court will now hear this matter on January 9, 2026. Former Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi and others are accused in this case. This case is related to Lalu Prasad Yadav misusing his position as Railway Minister and taking land in exchange for a job in Railways. There are allegations that Group D jobs were given in Railways in exchange for land. CBI has investigated this matter.
Charges were framed in October this year
In October this year, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court had framed corruption charges against Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav and other accused in connection with the IRCTC scam. The case was heard in the court of Special CBI Judge Vishal Gogane. When the charges were framed, all the accused including Lalu family were personally present in the court. The court has said that a corruption conspiracy was hatched in the case and the accused got direct benefits from it.
The court had taken cognizance of the CBI charge sheet
CBI has presented the entire chain of evidence before the court. Taking decision on the charge sheet filed by CBI, the court framed these charges under IPC 420 (cheating), IPC 120B (criminal conspiracy), Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 13(1)(d) (obtaining undue advantage by misusing public office).
