
The joint military exercise AJEYA WARRIOR-25 between India and Britain at Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan ended successfully today (Sunday, 30 November). This exercise lasted for about two weeks, in which the armies of both the countries jointly trained in anti-terrorism operations and operations in semi-urban areas.
This entire exercise was conducted under the mandate of the United Nations (UN). A total of 240 soldiers from both the countries participated in this 8th edition. In this exercise, troops from both the countries completed various difficult and technical activities. The soldiers of the Sikh Regiment of the Indian Army and the Royal Gurkha Rifles of Britain together conducted exercises like tactical drills, combat training, heliborne operations, room intervention, and cordon-and-search. Along with this, many operational discussions and planning sessions were also organized during this exercise.
Excellent performance by both armies
In the final phase, both the armies demonstrated excellent coordination, accuracy and joint capability. In the closing ceremony, cultural programs and soldiers who performed excellently were honoured. Apart from this, an exhibition of Indian indigenous weapons and equipment was also organized under Self-reliant India.
Defense cooperation between India and Britain strengthened
AJEYA WARRIOR-25 further strengthened defense cooperation between India and the UK and reiterated the shared commitment of both countries towards global peace and security. This 14-day bilateral exercise ran from 17 to 30 November. The main objective of this exercise conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the United Nations was to increase the operational capacity of anti-terrorist operations in semi-urban areas.
The event is being held every two years since 2011.
The Invincible Warrior Series has been organized every two years since 2011. The previous joint military exercise between India and the United Kingdom, the seventh edition of “Ajeya Warrior-23”, was held in Salisbury Plains, United Kingdom in 2023. Exercises like ‘Ajeya Warrior’ play an important role in enhancing coordinated response capability, technical interoperability and tactical skills in complex operations.
