Team India’s young opener Abhishek Sharma often starts every match in a explosive manner. Even though he could not score big in the T20 series against South Africa, he still kept on making fast starts. He did the same in the last match of the series in Ahmedabad, where Team India was batting first. Although once again he failed to play a big innings, but this time he not only got out but also caused loss to Team India.
Abhishek again gave a stormy start
In this match on Friday 19th December at Narendra Modi Stadium team india After losing the toss, came out to bat first. This time Sanju Samson came to open with Abhishek Sharma and both of them gave a stormy start. As soon as both of them arrived, they started hitting fours and sixes. As usual, Abhishek, in his own style, hit 3 consecutive fours in the second over, while in the sixth over he hit a six off Corbin Bosch. But after this six, his game also ended.
But then I made this big mistake
After hitting the six, the next ball was a bouncer, on which Abhishek thought of attempting a pull shot but he did not succeed and the umpire gave him out. Abhishek immediately took DRS and this is where he made a mistake. It became clear in the replay that the ball touched Abhishek’s gloves and went into the gloves of wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock and in such a situation the umpire’s decision proved to be correct.
Abhishek returned to the pavilion after scoring 34 runs in just 21 balls, which included 6 fours and 1 six. With this innings, he gave a good start to Team India but then caused a loss by spoiling the DRS. In a T20 match, every team gets only 2 reviews in an innings and if even one review goes wrong, it is lost. In such a situation, Team India had to play with only 1 review in the remaining 14 overs.
Abhishek could not break Virat’s record
Not only this, Abhishek missed breaking Virat Kohli’s record by just 13 runs. Actually, Abhishek needed 47 runs in this match, due to which he could surpass Virat Kohli and become the Indian scoring the most T20 runs in a year. But he could score only 34 runs. In this way, Kohli’s record of 1614 runs made in 2016 remained intact. Abhishek scored 1602 runs in 40 innings this year.
