
Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has got another big strength. New-generation Adamya Class Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) Amulya was formally commissioned in Goa on Friday. This is the third ship of this category. For security, Amulya has been equipped with 30 mm CRN-91 gun and two 12.7 mm remote control guns. Apart from this, it is equipped with modern fire control and target acquisition systems.
‘Amulya’, meaning priceless, symbolizes the Indian Coast Guard’s commitment to ensuring maritime security, safe navigation and clean seas. More than 60 percent indigenous equipment installed
This 51 meter long Fast Patrol Vessel has been designed and built in India by Goa Shipyard Limited. It has more than 60 percent indigenous equipment installed in it, which strengthens the self-reliant India and Make in India initiative. This ship is based on modern design of fast response, better endurance and high efficiency. The ship’s two 3000 kW diesel engines give it a maximum speed of 27 knots and an operational range of 1500 nautical miles. The indigenous controllable pitch propeller and state-of-the-art gearbox give it excellent control and agility at sea.
Amulya will be posted in Paradip, Odisha
Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ‘Amulya’ will be deployed in Paradip, Odisha. This ship will perform important missions like surveillance, interception, search and rescue (SAR), anti-smuggling operations and combating marine pollution, which will further strengthen the security of India’s eastern seaboard.

5 officers and 34 employees deployed in the ship
This ship is commanded by Commandant (JG) Anupam Singh and 5 officers and 34 personnel are deployed in it. The commissioning of ‘Amulya’ is another important step towards the expansion of the Coast Guard’s fleet, which will play an important role in protecting the country’s coastal security and maritime interests.
