The situation regarding former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is jailed in Pakistan, is still unclear. The family is continuously claiming that they are not being allowed to meet Imran Khan. Also the family is raising questions that Imran Khan is being kept in very bad conditions. Meanwhile, now the statement of Imran Khan’s son Qasim Khan has come out.
Imran Khan’s younger son Qasim Khan has alleged in a strong public statement that the government is keeping his father in complete isolation and the family is not being allowed to meet him. In his sharp statement on Twitter, he said that the family has no proof that Imran Khan is alive and warned that the authorities will be responsible for the security of the former Prime Minister.
“Father has been in jail for 845 days”
Qasim, who has mostly been out of Pakistan and stays away from front-line politics, said that Imran Khan has been in custody for 845 days and has now been kept in a death-row cell for the last six weeks. He wrote, my father has been in custody for 845 days. For the last 6 weeks, he has been kept in solitary confinement in a death cell, where there is absolutely zero transparency.
“No evidence of being alive”
Qasim said that despite court orders, his father is not being given even basic rights. He wrote in the post, his sisters were not allowed to meet each other. There has been no phone call, no meeting and no evidence of his being alive. He further said, I and my brother – both of us have had no contact with our father.

Qasim raised many questions
Qasim described the information blackout as a deliberate step and accused the Pakistani state of hiding his father’s condition. He wrote, this completely imposed blackout is not a security protocol. This is a deliberate attempt to hide his condition and prevent our family from knowing whether he is safe or not.
He warned that the Pakistani government and its handlers will be fully responsible, both morally and internationally, for my father’s safety and for all the consequences of this inhumane solitary confinement.
What did you demand?
In the appeal, Qasim sought intervention from global institutions. He said, I appeal to the international community, global human rights organizations and every democratic voice for immediate intervention. Ask for proof of his being alive, the meeting ordered by the court should be ensured. End this inhumane solitary confinement and demand the release of Pakistan’s most popular political leader, who has been imprisoned solely for political reasons.
Along with this, PTI has also demanded proof of life of Imran Khan. Despite repeated assurances from the government, PTI has demanded an official reply and immediate family meeting.
What did the administration say?
Adiala jail authorities rejected speculations that Imran had been taken somewhere else or that he was harmed. The administration termed these rumors as baseless. Officials told Geo News that the former Prime Minister is completely healthy and is getting full medical facilities. Imran Khan is lodged in Adiala jail since August 2023.
