
Cyclone Ditwah: Due to Cyclone Ditvaha, normal life has been disrupted due to heavy rains in many districts of Northern Tamil Nadu. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued a red alert for northern Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and parts of southern Andhra Pradesh. Meteorologists believe that the storm is continuously moving towards the coast in Tamil Nadu.
According to IMD, Cyclone Ditvah (Cyclone Ditwah) is located in the south-west of the Bay of Bengal, close to the northern Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coastline. The Meteorological Department said that during the last 6 hours, it was moving northwards at a speed of 7 km per hour and till late on Sunday morning it was still in the south-west of the Bay of Bengal. At the same time, the minimum distance of the center of the cyclone from the northern Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts is less than 80 km.

This cyclone (cyclone) was centered in the east around 11:30 a.m. Sunday and remains roughly in the same location. It is believed to be located about 100 km east-southeast of Cuddalore, 110 km north-east of Karaikal, 100 km east-southeast of Puducherry, 150 km north-northeast of Vedaranyam and 170 km south-southeast of Chennai.
A fierce look will be seen in 24 hours
According to IMD, it is likely to move northwards parallel to North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts during the next 24 hours. Due to which, there is a possibility of huge loss in the areas adjacent to the sea. However, all preparations have been made even before the cyclone hits the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts.

As it moves northwards, the cyclone is expected to remain at a minimum of 60 kilometers over the south-west Bay of Bengal and at a distance of 30 kilometers by the evening of 30 November. Due to the cyclone, there is heavy rain in many areas of Tamil Nadu. Whereas in the Kaveri delta, there is a problem of serious waterlogging in Ramanathapuram and Nagapattinam districts.

Flood-like conditions have arisen in many low-lying areas of coastal cities like Rameshwaram and Nagapattinam. In the next 24 hours, heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is likely over Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Tiruchirappalli, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur and Ranipet as well as Puducherry and Karaikal.

Tamil Nadu Revenue and Disaster Management Minister KKSSR Ramachandran said that the state administration has deployed 28 relief and rescue teams including SDRF and NDRF. Apart from this, more than 10 teams are expected to come from other states. The minister said that three people have died due to heavy rains caused by Cyclone Ditvah.
