
Under the International Geeta Mahotsav, a grand and historic global Geeta recitation was organized at Keshav Park in Dharmakshetra, Kurukshetra on Monday. In this group lesson, 21 thousand children recited the verses of Gita in one voice and presented a divine scene, which drenched the entire atmosphere with knowledge, devotion and spirituality. This unprecedented participation gave shape to the Indian concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini Said that on this auspicious date 5163 years ago, Lord Shri Krishna had given the divine sermon of Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta to Arjun, whose message is still a guiding light for the entire humanity. Today the sky echoed with the chanting of Ashtadashi shlokas by 21 thousand students. It is a matter of pride that today, apart from different regions of India, the voices of these verses are resonating simultaneously in many countries also.
Gita Mahotsav becomes an international festival
Chief Minister Saini said that Geeta lesson Its importance is not only religious but also scientific. The positive sound waves generated by chanting the mantras of Vedas, Upanishads and Geeta provide peace to the mind and brain, bring morality in thoughts and provide new energy to the person. He said that it is with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that we celebrate Geeta Jayanti at the international level.
CM Saini said that during his first visit to America in the year 2014, the PM presented the book The Gita According to Gandhi written by Mahadev Desai to the then US President Barack Obama on September 19, 2014. Inspired by this wonderful initiative, we have started celebrating the annual Geeta Jayanti at the international level from the year 2016. Participants from many countries and lakhs of devotees participate in it.
He said that on November 25, the Prime Minister participated in the International Geeta Mahotsav organized in Kurukshetra and inaugurated the Mahabharata theme based experience centre. On November 28, the Prime Minister also mentioned this experience center in Udupi, Karnataka and urged the countrymen to visit it. Today this festival has taken a worldwide format under his guidance.

Performing duty in the teachings of Shri Krishna
The Chief Minister said that apart from Geeta, the Prime Minister has also worked to spread Yoga all over the world. Due to his efforts, International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on 21st June. He said that in the present time there are many challenges like stress, anger and uncertainty, to deal with which Geeta inspires us to maintain equanimity in every ups and downs of life. He said that a person who recites Geeta daily rises above lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego. Every verse of Geeta is a lamp of knowledge and every chapter is a guide to life.
He said that the advice of Karmanyevadhikaraste given by Lord Krishna leads a person on the path of performing his duty and establishes discipline and balance in the society. If every person of the society implements this principle in his life, then discipline, harmony and balance will automatically be established in the society.
Geeta’s message is a source of inspiration for humanity
Naib Singh Saini said that every verse of Geeta gives us new inspiration to live life. Geeta is not only a dialogue between Arjun and Lord Krishna, it answers all our questions. According to mythological beliefs, in any house where Geeta is recited regularly, no negative energy of any kind can ever come there. Geeta teaches us that happiness-sorrow, success-failure, profit-loss are part of life. We should maintain equanimity without getting distracted by these. If every person implements this education in his life, then mutual conflict and tension will reduce.
He said that the message of Gita is timeless—it is a source of inspiration not just for India, but for all of humanity. If every person in the society adopts the teachings of Geeta, then evils, inequalities and conflicts will automatically end and an ideal society will be established. By adopting this message of Geeta, we can establish better relations with each other and bring harmony in the society. The Chief Minister made the attendees resolve to understand the knowledge of Geeta and adopt it in their lives and spread it to others.
A book that gives good values to the youth – Gyananand Maharaj
Geeta sage Swami Gyan Anand Maharaj, while congratulating and wishing the countrymen on Geeta Jayanti, said that on the holy land of Kurukshetra, Lord Shri Krishna gave the message to Arjun to do his duty. It is fortunate that on this very day Geeta Jayanti is being celebrated on the land of Kurukshetra and Lord Shri Krishna also selected this holy land as a place of preaching. International Geeta Mahotsav is being celebrated on a large scale for the last 10 years. The credit for this goes to Union Minister Manohar Lal and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
Today, on the day of Geeta Jayanti, where 21 thousand students are reciting the Global Geeta from Keshav Park in Kurukshetra, 1 lakh 800 students from 114 blocks of Haryana and millions of people in more than 50 countries are watching the Global Geeta Recitation. The government is trying to spread the teachings of the holy book Geeta to the common people, because the holy book Geeta has the solution to every problem and this book gives the message of doing good. By following the teachings of this holy book Geeta, the young generation gets a path to advance their character, self-confidence and career.
Knowledge, Science, Heritage and Development- Ramdev
Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev said that the whole world is getting knowledge and values from Kurukshetra, the place of Gita. The path of heritage, development, knowledge and modern science is found in this holy book Geeta. Therefore, every human being should think big and move ahead with hard work. This holy book Geeta will also provide a way to make the country a developed nation by the year 2047. The young generation will have an important contribution in making this country a developed nation. Therefore, to make the young generation cultured, along with big programs like International Gita Mahotsav, programs like Global Gita Path are being organized by the state government.
Ramdev said that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini deserves congratulations who is continuously promoting events like International Geeta Mahotsav. Thousands of years ago, Lord Shri Krishna gave the message of performing Karma on this holy land. Today the young generation should imbibe the teachings of Geeta in their lives and awaken the knowledge within themselves.
On this occasion, Baba Bhupendra Singh, Swami Master Maharaj, Vice Chancellor of Kurukshetra University Professor Somnath Sachdeva, Director of National Institute of Design Dr. Ramneek Kaur, former Minister of State Subhash Sudha also shared their views.
