VB-G RAM G Bill has been introduced in place of MNREGA in the winter session of Parliament. This bill has been introduced first in the Lok Sabha and later in the Rajya Sabha. However, there has been a lot of uproar from the opposition regarding the bill. Congress alleged that Gandhi’s name was being deliberately removed from the bill. Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that by bringing VB-G RAM G Bill 2025, the government wants to weaken the poor and make them “slaves”.
He said that MGNREGA is a very big and important law. We should not take it lightly. Because this is a law related to the poor and tampering with it is not good. So I would say that it is not good that you are trying to bring a new law in place of the old law. People will not let you roam on the streets.
He said that MGNREGA was started to feed the poor who could not work. Today you are snatching away their rights from them. What is your intention behind this? Weakening poor people? To crush them and push them into slavery again.
Like agricultural laws, VB-G RAM G bill will be withdrawn
Referring to the farmers’ movement that repealed the three controversial agricultural laws in 2021, he said that the time will come again when you will have to withdraw this new bill in the same manner. Like you had withdrawn the “three black agricultural laws”. He said that we will take to the streets. We will also face bullets but we will never support this law.
Kharge said that MNREGA should be kept in its old form. No changes should be made in this. The same old plan should be strengthened. If this is not done then all the poor people will be “ruined”.
Ram in the mouth, knife in the side
Mallikarjun Kharge said that the poor should not be harmed by ending this scheme. Do not keep a ram in your mouth and a knife next to you. Keep saying ‘Ram Ram’ for the poor, but keep the knife with you and keep hitting them (the poor) on the front, back and neck. If you keep working like this (to end MGNREGA), no one will forgive you. Kharge became emotional and said, “I swear on my mother, this law is not good for the poor and you want to destroy the poor.
