Four More Shots Please Review In Hindi: After a long wait of four years, Amazon Prime Video’s web series ‘Four More Shots Please’ has brought its fourth and last season. This is the show which when it started, was called Sex and the City of Indian OTT. But now times have changed. The Indian audience of the year 2024-25 is not the same as it was in 2019. In today’s era, women are masters of their own will and this is no longer limited to the dialogues of web series only, but has become a part of real life. In such a situation, have these four friends Damayanti, Anjana, Umang and Siddhi been able to offer something new or has the same old cold drink been served to us in a new bottle? Let us understand this in detail.
Story
Season 4 begins as has been the nature of this series, a riot of glamour, noise and emotions. The story starts from where it left off last time, but this time it is about marriage. Siddhi(Maanvi Gagroo) is in the bridal party, her nervousness is at its peak and the rest of her friends are trying to control her. But this is not just a marriage, this is the beginning of the next phase of these four’s lives.

While on one hand Anjana is balancing her daughter and career, on the other hand Damayanti is trying to resolve her complicated relationship with her family and brother. Umang is looking for something new after getting rid of her old memories (Samara), and Siddhi… Well, Siddhi is swinging between her personal life and career. How does their life progress? To know this you will have to watch this series.
Know how this series is
‘Four more shots please’ This time too in Season 4, friendship is visible, but there is less freshness than before and more fatigue. It seems as if the characters are also tired of this hustle and bustle and just want a happy ending.
Directing and writing
This season has been directed by Arunima Sharma, while Devika Bhagat and Ishita Moitra are the writers of this series. Looking at the work of all these, it seems that the makers are living in a ‘bubble’. The world of the show is still as ‘glossy’. Fancy offices, expensive clothes and shots of tequila on everything. But brother, real India is very different from this.
The biggest weakness of the writing is that the show is still stuck on the same issues which it has capitalized on in the first three seasons. Feminism does not just mean shouting loudly or rebelling against everything, but the characters here are still on the same path. An attempt has been made to add ‘shock value’ to the dialogue which has now become obsolete. Especially Siddhi’s open mic part, where she openly talks about her personal life and bedroom. At first it might have seemed revolutionary, but now it seems a bit strange and forced. Because the public has now become smart, they want substance (solid story), not just shock.

acting
Talking about performance, the show still rests on the shoulders of its actors. Kirti Kulhari (Anjana) has won this time, her character seems to be the most settled and mature. His bonding with his daughter and his chemistry with his new partner (Dino Morea) are worth watching. She doesn’t shout, but says a lot with her eyes and silence. Sayani Gupta (Damayanti) is confident as always. This time his track is with his brother (Kunal Roy Kapur), which is the most beautiful part of this entire season. The bickering and emotional scenes between the two seem very ‘real’.

Maanvi Gagroo (Siddhi) is a great actress, there is no doubt about it. But the writing of his character has weakened him a bit. Despite this, Maanvi has performed her comic timing and emotional scenes well. Bani J’s (Umang) character seemed a bit scattered this time. There is no depth in his story which was there in the previous seasons. Dino Morea and Kunal Roy Kapur have breathed life into the series. While Dino Morea adds glamor with his screen presence, Kunal Roy Kapur has shown the simplicity and depth in the role of brother which this ‘Loud’ show desperately needed.
What bothered you and what went astray?
The biggest problem of the series is the excessive display of ‘Lust’. Look, if it is an adult show then it is natural to have adult talk, but when the entire story starts revolving around only this, then it starts getting boring. The way the obsession with sex is shown in Siddhi’s track, it often distracts attention from the story. On the other hand, the ‘unrealistic’ world of the show also irritates sometimes. Here career problems are solved in a jiffy, it’s easy to plan a trip to Bangkok, and every ex-boyfriend suddenly becomes so wise that he starts thanking for past mistakes. All this feels filmy, far away from the ‘raw’ and ‘realistic’ feel which is the strength of today’s web series.

To watch or not to watch?
If you have been following these girls’ friendship for the last three seasons, then you should definitely watch it. For the fans of this show, it is like a ‘guilty pleasure’, that is, you know that it is a bit much, a bit artificial, but still you want to see what the end will be.
‘Four More Shots Please’ Season 4 is proof that sometimes it makes the most sense to stop at the right time. The voice that the show raised during its time regarding women’s freedom and their choices was praiseworthy. But now those things have become common. Now people want to see women not just drinking and abusing, but fighting their struggles and standing up for their rights.
That’s all in the end, this season is one last drink in the name of friendship, but the intoxication of it is now starting to wear off. If you are an old friend of these characters, then watch this for memories. Otherwise, in this glittering world, there is less depth of emotions and more noise of show off.
