Flight did not land in Gorakhpur due to dense fog, plane kept circling in the sky for half an hour

Spice Jet and Akasa flights going from Mumbai to Gorakhpur got diverted. It is being told that this happened due to dense fog on Thursday. During this time, the pilot tried to land for half an hour, but when he was not successful, the flight had to be diverted and landed in Jaipur. Due to the flight being diverted, the passengers had to return. On the other hand, passengers coming by plane also had to face problems.

This incident happened on Thursday evening. In the evening, Spice Jet flight from Mumbai to Gorakhpur was diverted midway to Jaipur, while Akasa flight coming from Delhi to Gorakhpur had to be diverted back to Delhi. Spice Jet and IndiGo flight coming from Delhi to Gorakhpur and IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Gorakhpur were delayed by more than two hours. Due to this, passengers reaching the airport had to face problems.

Travelers from Gorakhpur reached Jaipur

According to Gorakhpur Airport Authority, both the flights had to be diverted due to zero visibility. Passengers faced a lot of inconvenience due to Mumbai flights being sent to Jaipur. The company has accommodated the passengers in local hotels in Jaipur. All the passengers will be brought to Gorakhpur on Friday. Passengers bound for Mumbai and Bengaluru who reached Gorakhpur airport expressed their displeasure due to the plane being diverted. The passengers demanded that they be sent by another plane. The Airport Authority says that special care is being taken for the convenience of the passengers. Currently waiting for the weather to clear.

Flights operate only for 5.30 hours at the airport

It is being told that this season, fog had the maximum impact on planes on Thursday. The situation was such that flights could operate only for 5.30 hours a day. In the last 24 hours, seven flights coming to Varanasi were diverted. At the same time, 16 flights to and from Babatpur were cancelled. 19 planes also arrived late. Angered by this, the passengers created a ruckus. Airport officials explained this by citing bad weather.

These flights remained canceled

Officials said that the flights of Air India Delhi, Air India Express Delhi, SpiceJet Ahmedabad, Indigo Chennai, Indigo Hyderabad, Indigo Chennai, Indigo Mumbai and Akasa Air Bengaluru arriving at the airport remained cancelled.
