Recently, a drone attack took place from Afghan soil in the southern Khatlon province of Tajikistan, in which three Chinese workers were killed. Tajikistan’s Foreign Ministry said that the attack took place on Shahin SM Gold Mine Company, where Chinese employees were working. The attack has also been confirmed by the Chinese Embassy in Dushanbe.
The Chinese Embassy has warned its citizens to leave the border area immediately, as the situation is not safe. The embassy did not say who was behind the attack, but China tajikistan Has been asked to thoroughly investigate this incident. Chinese workers were involved in mining and construction projects in Tajikistan. Many Chinese companies mine natural resources in the border areas of Tajikistan.
Taliban condemned the attack
The Foreign Ministry of Afghan Taliban has also condemned this attack. Taliban said that according to initial information, people may be involved in this incident who want to spread anarchy, increase distrust between countries and destabilize the region.
Tajikistan’s Foreign Ministry claimed that criminal groups operating inside Afghanistan were responsible for this attack. Tajikistan and Afghanistan share a 1350 km long border.
Call to make Afghanistan terrorism free
After this incident, the discussion on security and terrorism has intensified. Meanwhile, a meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The Presidents of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan participated in it.
All the leaders said that they want Afghanistan to become a free, fair, peaceful and terrorism-free country. CSTO also said that it is ready to join international efforts for peace and development in Afghanistan.
