According to research, when the ink in a tattoo is injected into the skin, the skin considers it to be a foreign element and believes that there has been an attack on the skin. In such a situation, the immune system becomes active and the ink pigments are surrounded by immune cells. Which also goes to the lymph node. There are some chemicals inside the ink which are considered carcinogenic. If the tattooed area remains exposed to the sun for a long time, it can also increase the risk of skin cancer.

Do tattoos cause cancer?

This research has not drawn any conclusion i.e. there is no direct relation between tattoos and skin cancer, but it can increase the risk of cancer. In such a situation, there is no need for tattooists to panic, but they must be careful before getting tattooed. Get the tattoo done at a good place. After tattoo, take proper care of the skin, especially while going out in the sun, keep that area covered with a cloth or apply sunscreen. If there is a change in the color of the skin near the spot where the tattoo is made, or there is constant itching in the lump, then definitely consult a doctor. Do not be careless in this matter.
