The protest of Block Level Officers (BLO) against the Election Commission in West Bengal is not stopping. When the protesters were stopped, a fierce scuffle started with the police. Many BLOs also sat on the road.
One of them said angrily, “We have been sitting for hours since morning. We have requested several times, but nothing is happening. We are not leaving from here without meeting the CEO. The family members of the BLO who died have come, but why will they not meet us? Has he become a VIP?”
Expressed his anger against the BLO police. He said, “We want to give a deputation, but the police are not letting us go. If they do not let us go in, we will continue the protest.”
Demand for compensation to the family of deceased BLO
The family members of the deceased BLO also said the same thing. Showing strong anger at the entire system, he said, “The Election Commission is procrastinating. My grandfather’s name was Zakir Hussain. His family knew that he would come, yet they are procrastinating. We demand a proper investigation of the entire incident. If SIR has to be done, then it has to be done with proper planning. SIR cannot run like this without a plan. I have lost my grandfather, the Commission will have to pay compensation.

In the last few days, there have been reports of deaths of BLOs from different parts of the state. The same picture has been seen everywhere from North Bengal to South Bengal. From Memari in East Burdwan to Malbazar in Jalpaiguri, news of death of BLO has come from everywhere. SIR theory has also been added to this.
There is an uproar after the death of BLO
Political turmoil continues after the death of Shantimuni Orao, an Anganwadi worker by profession. Husband Sukhu Ekka claims that his wife was mentally disturbed for some time due to her SIR’s work. That’s why he chose the path of suicide. He has already lodged a written complaint at Malbazar Police Station.
Meanwhile, Digha Primary School teacher Zakir Hussain died of a heart attack on Thursday. Family members allege that the BLO had become mentally and physically disturbed while handling the extra responsibility of SIR along with school work. This is why this accident happened.
