December 3, 2025 by Uma Shankar

By-elections were held for 12 wards of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on 30 November in the country’s capital Delhi. Overall, the voting percentage in this election was very low. Although the voting was completely peaceful, no news of any uproar or clash was reported from any area. The results of the voting held on November 30 are going to come today (December 3). All eyes of BJP and Aam Aadmi Party are fixed on these results.

The Election Commission has made complete preparations for the election results. On Sunday, voting took place in 12 wards of Delhi MCD from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Overall, 51 candidates are in the fray in this election. This time 38.51 percent voting was recorded in the by-election.

According to Delhi State Election Commission, voting was conducted at 580 booths in 143 polling stations. There is going to be a direct contest between Aam Aadmi Party and BJP on many seats. This is the reason why everyone’s eyes are fixed on the results. Counting of votes will start from 8 am.

Results will come for these seats

In the counting of votes, this time the results of by-election are going to come for Greater Kailash, Chandni Chowk, Shalimar Bagh B, Ashok Vihar, Sangam Vihar A, Chandni Mahal, Dichaon Kalan, Naraina, Dakshin Puri, Mundka, Vinod Nagar and Dwarka B seats. A total of 51 candidates were in the fray for all the 12 seats in Delhi, apart from which 26 were women.

The results coming today will also decide whether BJP will become stronger in the MCD House or the opposition Aam Aadmi Party will be successful in increasing its influence.

CM Rekha Gupta’s first exam

When elections were held in Delhi Municipal Corporation in the year 2022. At that time BJP had won 115 seats. This is the reason why BJP wants 100 percent strike rate in this by-election, if this happens then BJP will get absolute majority in the House. This election is also being considered as the first test of CM Rekha Gupta. In such a situation, it remains to be seen whether Rekha passes the Delhi exam or not.
