
Cyclone Ditvah has caused huge devastation in Sri Lanka, due to which more than 150 people have died so far and millions have been affected. After causing devastation in Sri Lanka, Cyclone Ditvaha will hit the coasts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on Sunday. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for many areas. More than 21 tonnes of relief material has been sent by India to Sri Lanka under ‘Operation Sagar Bandhu’. Due to this, a red alert has been issued for rain in Tamil Nadu. An advisory has also been issued by Air India.
Due to heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, 54 flights were canceled on Saturday. In Sri Lanka, more than 150 people have died due to floods and landslides, more than 191 are missing. Apart from these, 10 teams from NDRF bases of Maharashtra and Gujarat have reached Chennai.

Red alert of rain in Tamil Nadu
Cyclone Ditvaah is moving towards Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and South Andhra Pradesh. Heavy rains triggered by the storm have disrupted life in many coastal areas of Tamil Nadu. Red alert is issued for extremely heavy rain in many districts. Flight and train services have been disrupted in Chennai. Many teams of NDRF and SDRF have been deployed in many areas of Tamil Nadu. Emergency declared in Sri Lanka
Efforts were being made in Sri Lanka to recover from the massive devastation caused by a powerful cyclone on Saturday. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has declared a state of emergency in the entire country. Due to Cyclone Ditvah, scary reports are coming from different states of people getting buried in landslides or being swept away in sudden floods.

The situation in Sri Lanka is bad due to Cyclone Ditvaah. 7,74,724 people from 2,17,263 families in 25 districts have been affected by this disaster, as many areas are facing problems due to floods, landslides and heavy rains. DMC further said that 1,00,898 people from 27,494 families are currently taking shelter in 798 evacuation centers across the country.
India launches Operation Sagar Bandhu
India had launched Operation Sagar Bandhu on Saturday to help Sri Lanka due to the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditvaha. Regarding this, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar told on X that IL-76 aircraft of Indian Air Force has reached Colombo. About 27 tonnes of relief material has now been transported by air and sea with teams of 80 NDRF personnel.
