This is revealed by TRAI’s monthly data, now recently TRAI has released the data for the month of October which shows how was the condition of which companies among Jio, Airtel, BSNL and Vi? A slight increase has been recorded in the total number of wireless subscribers in the telecom sector in October.
BSNL Subscribers in India
BSNL has added 0.269 million new subscribers to the network in October, together with MTNL, BSNL has 7.92 percent of the total wireless subscriber base in India.
Jio Subscribers in India
According to TRAI data, Reliance Jio continued its strong subscriber momentum and added 1.997 million new subscribers. According to the report, in terms of number of wireless subscribers, Jio’s subscribers decreased by 3.249 million in September and 1.997 million in October. However, among all telecom service providers (TSPs), Jio still leads in terms of subscribers, the company has a wireless user base of about 484.7 million and the growth rate of the company was 0.41 percent (month on month).
Vi Subscribers in India
Vi lost 0.2083 million wireless subscribers in October, making Vodafone Idea (Vi) the highest net loss among all major telecom providers. The company lost 2.083 million wireless subscribers in October, bringing the company’s total wireless subscriber base down from about 202.8 million in September to about 200.7 million at the end of October. After this decline, Vi’s market share in the total wireless subscriber base has come down to 17.13 percent.
Airtel Subscribers in India
Airtel also strengthened its wireless subscriber base in India, taking the company’s total subscriber base to 393.7 million. With the addition of 1.252 million new wireless subscribers, the company’s market share has increased to 33.59 percent.
Wireless subscriber growth rate
The number of wireless (mobile and fixed wireless access) subscribers increased from 1182.32 million at the end of September 2025 to 1184.62 million at the end of October 2025, showing a month-on-month growth rate of 0.19 percent.
