Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while expressing his special affection towards Uttarakhand in the Mann Ki Baat program on Sunday, mentioned the possibilities of winter tourism, adventure sports and wedding destination in the state. An appeal has been made to the countrymen to experience the Himalayan valleys during the winter season. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for this. He said that Prime Minister Modi is the biggest brand ambassador of Uttarakhand tourism.
Chief Minister Dhami Said that all the people of the state are grateful to the respected Prime Minister for highlighting the sustainable development and possibilities of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand on the world stage. Be it the Prime Minister’s visit to Shri Kedarnath, Shri Badrinath and Adi Kailash in the past or his visit to Mukhya last year for the winter trip, it has given impetus to tourism in Uttarakhand every time. As per the resolution of the Prime Minister, the state government is working determinedly to put Uttarakhand on the map of natural, spiritual and adventure tourism.
Talk about Uttarakhand for two and a half minutes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated about two and a half minutes to Uttarakhand in the Mann Ki Baat program. He said that these days winter tourism of Uttarakhand is attracting a lot of people. Places like Auli, Munsiyari, Dayara, Chopta are becoming popular during winter season. The Prime Minister said that just a few weeks ago, the state’s first High Altitude Ultra Run Marathon was organized in Adi Kailash, located at an altitude of 14 and a half thousand feet in Pithoragarh, in which more than 750 athletes from 18 states across the country participated.
The 60 km long Adi Kailash Parikrama Run started at five in the morning in the bitter cold; despite the cold, the excitement of the participants was palpable. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that till three years ago, only two thousand people used to come every year on the pilgrimage to Adi Kailash, now this number has reached 30 thousand.
Praising winter tourism in Uttarakhand, the Prime Minister said that Uttarakhand is also going to organize Winter Games in a few weeks, in which players, adventure lovers and people associated with sports from all over the country are excited to participate. Referring to the increasing tourism infrastructure in Uttarakhand, he said that Uttarakhand has specially focused on connectivity and infrastructure to promote winter tourism.
New policy made for home stay
In this sequence, the state government has also made a new policy for home stay. While branding destination wedding in Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Modi said that amidst the golden sunshine of winter and the fog descending from the mountains, Uttarakhand is also becoming popular as a wedding destination. Especially now a lot of destination weddings are taking place on the banks of Ganga. Appealing to the countrymen, the Prime Minister said that if they are thinking of going somewhere in winter, then definitely include the Himalayan valleys as their option, the Himalayan valleys will fill you with experiences that will last a lifetime.
PM’s seal on the works of Dhami government
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is making special efforts to promote winter tourism in the state. In this sequence, the government has also been conducting winter yatra since last year. The government is also promoting wedding destinations in the state, now Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while praising the efforts of the state government, has, in a way, put his positive seal on the work of the Dhami government.
