Before the BMC elections in Maharashtra, the political temperature is high. The dispute over seat sharing between Shiv Sena (UBT) and Raj Thackeray’s MNS has deepened. MNS has staked claim on seats held by sitting Shiv Sena (UBT) MLAs like Mahim, Vikhroli and Shivadi. Due to the stubborn attitude of Shiv Sena (UBT) in not giving up these seats, the talks have remained inconclusive. Now to resolve this, Thackeray brothers will hold direct talks, which is a big challenge for both the parties before the BMC elections.
The distribution of seats for Maharashtra BMC elections has not been done yet. Now political parties are busy in their respective preparations. Meanwhile, reports of rift between Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS are coming to the fore. MNS has staked claim on BMC seats falling in Vikhroli and Shivadi assembly constituencies, while Shiv Sena does not want to leave these seats under any circumstances.
There were talks about seat sharing between the leaders of both the parties. However, these talks and meetings have been inconclusive. In such a situation, it is certain that in the coming days, Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray can sit and talk about seat sharing. Now these two leaders will try to resolve the entire matter through meetings and talks.
What did Shiv Sena say on seat sharing?
On the 3 seats that MNS has sought, there are currently only Shiv Sena (UBT) MLAs. Shiv Sena (UBT) says that apart from the seats in the assembly constituencies where we have MLAs, MNS should ask for some other seats. There will be no discussion on the seats we won. MNS is not liking this stubborn attitude of Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders.
talks going on for a month
In the seat sharing talks, Shiv Sena (UBT) has Anil Parab, Varun Sardesai and Suraj Chavan and MNS has Bala Nandgaonkar, Nitin Sardesai. Since last month, seat sharing is being discussed among the leaders of both the parties. But, no solution has been found till now. Now Thackeray brothers will talk directly to each other on the seats where there is dispute over distribution.
