Amidst the Special Intensive Review (SIR), the Election Commission has given a big gift to the Booth Level Officers (BLOs). According to the information released by the Commission, the honorarium of BLO has been increased from Rs 6000 to Rs 12000. Along with this, the honorarium of BLO supervisors has been increased from Rs 12,000 to Rs 18,000.
Apart from BLO and BLO Supervisor, the Election Commission has also announced to increase the honorarium of Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) and Electoral Registration Officer (ERO).
Decision to increase honorarium
In fact, the Election Commission said that pure electoral list is the basis of democracy. In the electoral process, EROs, AEROs, BLO supervisors and BLOs work harder so that a fair and transparent electoral list can be prepared. Keeping all these things in mind, the Commission has decided to double the annual honorarium of BLOs and increase the honorarium of BLO supervisors.
Amendment was made in the year 2015
Let us tell you that the last amendment in honorarium was made in the year 2015. The biggest thing in this is that for the first time it has been decided to give an honorarium of Rs 25 thousand to AERO and Rs 30 thousand to ERO per year, whereas earlier there was no provision for separate honorarium on these posts.
Incentive amount of Rs 6 thousand to BLO
Apart from this, on the basis of special request received from Bihar, the Election Commission has also approved an incentive amount of Rs. 6 thousand to the BLO for SIR. According to the Commission, this step has been taken to boost the morale of the employees working at the field level and to ensure the accuracy of the voter list.
