Under the Voter Special Intensive Revision Program 2026, which is running in 9 states and three union territories of the country, Barmer district has set a great example by completing its target before the scheduled time. In this campaign which started from 4th November, the target was set to digitize and mapping the voter list by 4th December. It was later extended to 11 December. Despite this, Barmer achieved first position among 12 states across the country by doing more than 100 percent digitization and 98 percent mapping before the deadline.

District Election Officer Tina Dabi said that the vast geographical situation of the district was the biggest challenge of this campaign. A large population lives in remote areas and internet availability is limited in many areas. Despite this, the team of BLO and ERO reached out to the voters even in difficult areas on camels and updated the data.

Got better results by keeping stress free

Collector Tina Dabi said that from the first day of the campaign, a strategy was adopted to get better results by keeping the BLOs stress-free. To reduce their workload, a team of four additional members including Patwari, Gram Sevak, Asha Sahyogini was appointed, due to which the speed of work on the field increased and errors were kept to a minimum.

Tina Dabi said that making the voter list pure, transparent and error-free is the top priority. The district team has achieved this goal through dedication, discipline and continuous field work. He congratulated the residents of the district, BLO-ERO and all the field staff for this collective success.

BLO’s death

A booth-level officer (BLO) died of cardiac arrest in Rajasthan on Sunday morning. Officials said his family has claimed that he was under pressure due to his duty in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list. This is going on in the state right now.

According to his family, Anuj Garg, posted as BLO in Dholpur, was busy working till 1 am on Sunday, when his health deteriorated. His sister Vandana said that he was working as SIR at 1 am in the night. He was under stress due to excessive work pressure and was feeling uneasy. He asked me for tea, but before I could make it, he collapsed.
