Anmol Bishnoi faces threat to life from Pakistani gangster, protection petition filed in court

Anmol Bishnoi, brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has filed a security petition, citing apprehension that he may be targeted and killed by Pakistani gangster Shehzad Bhatti due to his recent posts on social media. Anmol was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) after being deported and is currently in the agency’s custody.

It was said in the petition that due to continuous threats, the applicant (Anmol) and his family members are living in constant fear, mental stress and fear.

Demand for armed police protection

Apart from this, the petition said that such threats cannot be taken lightly, because recent incidents clearly show that online threats have turned into violent attacks in the real world. In the application, Anmol also requested the court to direct the investigating agency to provide him adequate armed police protection while traveling from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) headquarters to the court premises.

Anmol’s custody extended till December 5

On Saturday, perhaps for the first time, Special Judge (NIA) Prashant Sharma conducted the hearing at the NIA headquarters instead of the regular court and extended Anmol’s custody till December 5. Before this, on November 19, Anmol was sent to NIA custody for 11 days. NIA’s special public prosecutor, advocate Rahul Tyagi, said that the hearing was held at the headquarters because the defense lawyer had requested in this regard.

Hearing at NIA Headquarters

NIA’s special public prosecutor, advocate Rahul Tyagi, said that the hearing was held inside the headquarters on the request of the defense counsel. Lawyer Tyagi said, Anmol Bishnoi’s police custody has been extended for seven more days. He was produced in the court, which held the hearing at the NIA headquarters on the request of the defense. He has revealed many such facts which need further investigation. For this, NIA is now investigating further.

Involved in terrorist-gangster syndicate

Anmol, wanted in connection with the murder of NCP leader Siddiqui, firing at actor Salman Khan’s residence in April 2024, murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and other crimes, was deported from the US on November 18. He was detained in America in November 2024. Absconding since 2022, Anmol is the 19th accused to be arrested for his involvement in the terrorist-gangster syndicate led by his jailed brother Lawrence Bishnoi.
