
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar met RSS founder K.B. Gave up visiting Hedgewar’s memorial. But his party NCP said that it has joined the Mahayuti alliance for the development of the state. NCP spokesperson Anand Paranjape said that the ideology of the National Congress Party is based on the progressive ideas of (social reformers) Shahu, Phule and Ambedkar. This is not the first time that Pawar has skipped visiting Hedgewar’s memorial.
On Sunday morning, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and MLAs from the ruling BJP and Shiv Sena visited Hedgewar’s memorial and paid tribute to him, but Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and other NCP leaders did not attend the event. The winter session of Maharashtra Legislature is currently going on in Nagpur.
Only two MLAs were present
BJP ministers and MLAs pay homage to Hedgewar and other Sanghchalak M.S. at the Smriti Mandir in Reshimbagh every year during the winter session of the state legislature. Go to Golwalkar’s memorial. Last year, Ajit Pawar-led NCP had 41 MLAs in the assembly. On its part, only MLA Raju Karemor and Rajkumar Badole were present in the Smriti Mandir.
NCP spokesperson Paranjape said that this is not the first time that Ajit Pawar has skipped visiting the memorial of the founder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He said that we stand by the principles and our focus is on the development of the state.
It weakens democracy and the constitution.
Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant claimed that the NCP is listening to the RSS’s “ideology” in cabinet meetings and unless Pawar’s party agrees to it, they will not remain in power. In a post on X, Sawant criticized the RSS, alleging that it promotes ideologies that weaken democracy and the Constitution.
Referring to Shinde and Shiv Sena MLAs visiting Hedgewar’s memorial, he alleged that their focus was on how to gain power by distributing money. How to destroy constitutional democracy? The Congress leader claimed that despite being in existence for more than 100 years, the RSS has failed to clearly explain what Hindutva means. He said that at least now they should make it clear what is the real meaning of Hindutva. Sawant also alleged that RSS discussions are more about spreading divisive things in the society than intellectual debate.
