Said goodbye at the age of 80
Umesh was born on April 24, 1945 in Mysore, Karnataka. Umesh was 80 years old. He was fighting cancer for a long time. He was undergoing treatment in a hospital in Bengaluru and in the hospital itself, he said goodbye to this world at 8:30 am on Sunday morning. He was recently brought to the hospital, but the actor could not be saved.
Worked in more than 350 films
80 year old Umesh’s career started at the age of just four years. Then he played a character in the theater group of ‘Lanchavatar’ fame Master K Hiranyya. After this, actor Gubbi became a part of Veeranna’s theater group. He got his first big break in the film world in the year 1960.
At the age of 15, Umesh was seen in the film ‘Makkala Rajya’. Umesh was a part of the film industry for more than 6 decades and worked in more than 350 films. His popular films include Katha Sangma, Nagara Hole, Guru Shishyaru, Anupama, Kamna Billu, Apoorva Sangma, Shruti Seridaga and Shravan Banthu etc.
Former CM of Karnataka expressed grief
Former Karnataka Chief Minister and MP HD Kumaraswamy has also expressed condolences on the demise of Umesh. He wrote on social media, “I am deeply saddened to hear the news of the demise of famous comedian MS Umesh. Umesh used to immerse the audience in a sea of laughter with his comedy. He was an actor who worked to take the Kannada film industry forward.”
